I've made the first cut...

So here's some good news for a change!

I entered my manuscript, "Weaverworld One: The Realie" in the Canadian Aid Charity Literary Awards contest last month. They looked it over and let me know a few weeks later that it had been selected to compete with 49 other manuscripts for the top prize: publication by Bookland Press in Toronto.

The $45 entry fee was actually a tax-deductible donation to Canadian Aid Charity, earmarked for their GIVE-A-WHEELCHAIR project "to provide mobility equipment for disadvantaged children and people in need."

Results will be announced by December 15, 2007 and posted online at www.canadianaid.org and www.canadianaid.com. Or course I'd like to win, but just being part of this very interesting fund-raising project seems somehow like an honour. That being said, wish me luck!
